The Pocket Fetal Doppler proves to be an indispensable device for any pregnant woman who wants to hear their baby’s heartbeat during their pregnancy. The Pocket Fetal Doppler is a hand-held, pocket-sized device that’s used to detect and listen to the Baby’s heartbeat. The fetal probe uses the Doppler Effect (high-frequency sound waves) to provide an audible replication to the sound of the baby's heartbeat. Similar in function to an esthetoscope, but able to be heard by everyone within its vicinity.

The Pocket Fetal Doppler is thought to be perfectly safe to use, if used according to the guidelines.

It can be used once every other day, for up to 5 minutes at a time. Generally, it is recommended that the Pocket Fetal Doppler be used in short intervals, infrequently (every other day at most) and after the first trimester.

It is suggested that when using the Pocket Fetal Doppler, sessions should not last longer than 10 minutes. In previous cases, there have been no negative effects indicated. However, as with everything, we highly encourage you to exercise moderation when using the Pocket Fetal Doppler.

Switch on the doppler and connect the probe to the device. Afterwards, you may lubricate the abdominal area with any form of conductive gel (moisturiser, aloe gel and/or ultrasound gel are generally good conductors.)

Lie down in a comfortable, upright position (lying with legs spread to the front in a bed or couch is ideal) and proceed to utilize the probe with the device turned on.

The sound waves emitted by the probe will interact with the baby's heartbeat, which will then be projected back to the device and be amplified. At times, you may have difficulty distinguishing between other sounds within your body, such as breathing, blood flow, or stomach digestion from the baby's heartbeat.

The reasons why you may not be able to hear your baby's heartbeat may vary. Most likely, this is because it might be too early in your pregnancy. If you feel concerned, contact your healthcare provider and schedule an appointment with them. Usually, the best course of action is to step back and try again on another occasion.

Other reasons as to why you may not hear your baby's heartbeat may include the following:

- A tipped uterus.

- A large abdomen.

- Being in an earlier stage of pregnancy than you thought you were.

Generally, it is best to start using the baby doppler after 13 weeks of pregnancy. This may vary from person to person by a few weeks.

Yes, several factors can impact the fetal doppler measurements. Including but not limited to:

- Using tobacco products. (We highly suggest you refrain from any and all tobacco/alcohol products during your pregnancy.)

- Consuming caffeine.

- Other noises produced by the body of the mother.

- The baby is asleep.

- Not placing the Pocket Fetal Doppler probe accurately.

- Movement of the baby in utero.

- Being pregnant with more than one baby (twins, triplets, etc.)

- Obesity in the mother.

- Position in which the mother is at the time of using the probe.

- Too much amniotic fluid.

Using the fetal doppler is a great way to reduce anxiety and preoccupation throughout your pregnancy. The device offers reassurance to the mother and the entire family by providing a bonding experience with the newest member of the family.

Just as with any person, a baby's heartbeat may vary. Generally, a fetal heartbeat oscillates between 110 and 160 beats per minute (bpm.)

As with anything, the fetal heart rate changes as your baby responds to different conditions within the mother's body.

Please note using this product is not a replacement for regular doctor visits and is not intended to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any medical condition or disease nor to derive or obtain any medical conclusion based on its findings.

The use of this product is merely to hear a baby's heartbeat and for the bonding experience it provides for expectant parents.

The heart rate value on the screen is computed from the audible sound heard on the device and may not be an accurate indication of the actual heartbeat and should not be relied upon for medical purposes.

If you have any medical conditions or have any medical questions or concerns, please consult with a professional healthcare practitioner before, during, and/or after using this product.
